Rise, Nephalem! Lilith returns to Sanctuary with Diablo 4 on PC and consoles. Some fans of the APRG franchise from Blizzard will surely want to race to the Diablo 4 max level and farm the endgame.

This guide explains what the maximum character level is in Diablo 4, alongside the Paragon Points cap, and where your character will be in terms of level progression once you've completed the non-linear story, so let's get started.

Update on 18 July 2023: We've updated this article with the latest information about the max level and Paragon Point cap in Diablo 4. No details changed in Diablo 4 Season 1.

Max Level in Diablo 4

Diablo 4's massive campaign will take roughly 35 hours to beat. As fans of the iconic ARPG franchise know, that's only the start of the journey, as the grind to the maximum level in Diablo 4 will continue for quite some time.

It has been confirmed that the max level players can reach on a character in Diablo 4 is 100. This might change with new seasons, but for now, there's no way to get past level 100.

Diablo 4 Paragon Points Cap

Unlike Diablo 3, the Paragon Points you can earn in Diablo 4 are not infinite. Instead, players will unlock the Paragon Board at level 50. Players will earn 1 Paragon Point for every 25% of a level.

As we've already mentioned in the first section of this article, the maximum level is 100 in Diablo 4. Further, you can get four Paragon Points per region if you max out its renown. Then, there are also four Altars of Lilith that give Paragon Points. To this end, the Paragon Points cap is 224.

What Level When Completing Diablo 4's Campaign?

Once you complete Diablo 4's story, which should take around 35 hours to beat, your character will be roughly level 45. This depends, of course, on how many side activities, such as Strongholds, the player completes and much more. It also depends on the Diablo 4 World Tier difficulty, as World Tier 1 (Adventurer) provides less XP than World Tier 2 (Veteran), and both are available before completing the campaign.

Speaking to GameSpot in an interview, Game Director Joe Shely explained.

We know that it's fun to build your character and discover all these powerful builds. And we also think it's really important to have content to test yourself against. So we've really tried to expand the variety of activities. And as Rod said, the game, when you finish the campaign, you might be level 45 or something. Your character level goes up to a hundred through Paragon points. And you get access to whispers, you get access to Nightmare dungeons, other endgame activities that we're still working on.

We really wanted you to have a wide variety of things to do. And of course, you've got world tiers that are allowing you to step up the keep, make sure that the difficulty of the world stays on pace with the power of your character level. And to unlock those, you actually need to prove to complete a dungeon to access that more difficult content. So it goes back to the idea of making a build, making it powerful, and then testing yourself against some challenge.
